Vacuum glass installations.
Vacuum insulated glass units represent the most advanced glazing technology available today, delivering exceptional thermal performance in a remarkably slim profile. With U-values as low as 0.38 W/m²K, VIG dramatically outperforms conventional double glazing — and its sound reduction of up to 35dB (compared to 29dB for standard 4mm glass) makes it equally effective at cutting noise.
At just 6.2mm to 8.4mm thick, VIG integrates seamlessly into existing steel and cast-iron frames without the need for costly re-engineering — preserving the original character of historic windows while transforming their performance. Units are built to last up to 50 years.
Our installations have been inspected and approved by English Heritage, covering in-situ and ex-situ restorations as well as new replica windows in Grade II listed buildings.
VIG is also available in a toughened glass unit, ideal for doors and low-level windows where added safety is required.
Unlike older vacuum glazing technologies, modern VIG units have no evacuation port to obstruct the view, and use very thin edge seals to maximise the visible glass area — combining outstanding performance with a clean, unobtrusive appearance.
