About us

Steel Frame Window Refurbishment are a proffesional, reliable, and friendly team offering tailored refurbishments, delivered to high standards. With experience in the construction industry and conservation, we have shaped our practice around guidance from Historic England and SPAB – researching and developing our methods to deliver high quality refurbishments at a competitive price.

We cover the whole of Great Britain for Commercial Contracts and the South for Domestic Projects.

Our Story

With over 35 years’ experience in the building industry and his own domestic building firm, founder Paul moved into the steel frame window business through his 68-year-old cousin John. Previously in the industry, John had a vast amount of experience, knowledge, and passion which he shared, but said that ultimately he was too old to start a business.

As such Paul founded Crittall Window Refurbishment as a Sole Trader in 2018 and with Johns 30+ years’ experience, trained up a team to deliver an on-site refurbishment service.

Since then, the team has expanded, along with our refurbishment processes. With our combined passion for conservation, we have worked tirelessly to devise techniques that a sympathetic yet effective and allow us to deliver the best results for our clients.

During the pandemic, we rebranded ourselves as SFWR Ltd (Steel Frame Window Refurbishment) to cover all manufacturers windows and doors as we didn’t want to limit ourselves. We also expanded our facilities setting up a workshop in Small Dole, to enable us to manufacture our own bespoke replica windows.
